For this assignment, we were given a website that had 52 different photography ideas and we had to try some of them out.
The first one I tried was the water drop art. I didn't have the most high quality camera to take this picture but I still was able to capture the splashing. I took this photo by placing a glass of water in the sink and then turning on the faucet so it would drip. Then I timed the photo so I got the splash.
The next project I tried was the bokeh light photography. I did this by taking a picture of some sunglasses with my fairy lights in the background and used the background defocus setting on my camera. The lights didn't get as far out of focus as I wanted them too but I still like the way it looks. Also, when I was using the background defocus setting on my camera, I took a picture of my ukulele and really liked the way it came out.
My next set of experimental photos was some kitchen close-ups. I just took some pictures of my fruit bowl and pouring some sugar into coffee. I liked the coffee one as it reminded me of the one of the cereal on the website and I like the fruit because it is very colorful.
This next set of photos was definitely my favorite of them all. I wanted to do the smoke art project from the website but I took a different approach. Instead I dropped blue food coloring into a glass of water and took pictures are it began to mix in the water. It make really cool shapes and thought it made for very cool photography.
Finally, while I was cleaning the glass that I dumped a bunch of food coloring into my kitchen glasses, I noticed the bubbles looked very cool and took some close up photos of them. They kind of remind my of the abstracts in oil project on the website although I didn't follow those steps to complete it.
I really enjoyed this project and I look forward to trying more of the ideas that were provided on the website.
